Richard King Mellon Foundation Selects New Director (Transitions)

Sam Reiman, associate director, has been promoted to director, overseeing grant making at the $2.6 billion foundation in western Pennsylvania. He will report to its CEO, Seward Prosser Mellon.

Reiman succeeds Scott Izzo, who has served in the role since 2005 and will remain on the foundation’s Board of Trustees.

Archstone Foundation

Christopher Langston, vice president for health-care services at the Aging in New York Fund, has been hired as president and CEO of the $113 million foundation. He succeeds Joseph Prevratil, who is retiring after 23 years as president and 30 years at the foundation.

College Futures Foundation

Elizabeth González, a portfolio director and senior program officer at the James Irvine Foundation, has been named chief program and strategy officer of this $504 million foundation, which makes grants to help low-income minority students in California graduate from college.

More New CEOs

Suzanne Allen, president and CEO of Philanthropy Ohio, has been tapped as executive director of the Barberton Community Foundation, in Columbus.

Jeff Buchheit, executive director of the Baltimore National Heritage Area, will now serve as executive director of Pride of Baltimore, a nonprofit group that maintains the historical ship Pride of Baltimore II.

Rachel Petrucelli, interim president of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation since April, has accepted the position on a permanent basis. Before that, she was senior vice president for development and chief development officer.

National Audubon Society

The bird-conservation group has made changes to its government-affairs leadership team.

Libby Marking, legislative assistant to Senator Heidi Heitkamp, a North Dakota Democrat, has been named senior manager for government affairs.

Justin Stokes, senior director for government affairs, has been promoted to vice president for political affairs, a newly created position, and executive director of the Audubon Action Fund.

Jesse Walls has become senior director for government affairs after serving as director of member services for Rep. Steve Stivers, Republican of Ohio.

Other Notable Appointments

Mary Caraccioli, chief communications officer at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, has joined the Central Park Conservancy as chief communications officer.

Mary Dieglio, assistant director at the Institute for Entrepreneurship at Miami University, has been appointed program officer at the Burton D. Morgan Foundation.

Deborah Lackey, chief advancement officer at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, is now director of development at the Alley Theatre.

Miquella (Kelly) Chavez Rose, executive director for the Research Triangle Material Research Science and Engineering Center, is joining the Burroughs Wellcome Fund as a program officer. She will oversee the Interfaces in Science and the Regulatory Science programs, which make a combined $10 million a year in grants for biomedical research.

Laura Walker will step down as president and CEO of New York Public Radio on March 31. She’s been there for 23 years.

Departures

Berinthia LeVine, vice president for advancement at Cleveland State University and executive director of the Cleveland State University Foundation, plans to retire on June 30. She has worked at the university since 2011.

Laura Walker is stepping down as president and CEO of New York Public Radio after 23 years. Her last day is March 31.
