Richmond Hospital Gets $28-Million for Kids’ Heart Care

Children’s Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University received a $28-million donation Tuesday to establish a center for pediatric heart surgery, the Richmond Times-Dispatch writes.
The gift from the Children’s Hospital Foundation will allow VCU to recruit cardiologists, anesthetists, and other specialists in pediatric heart care for the new program. The university will commit an additional $14-million for equipment and operating costs at the Children’s Hospital Foundation Heart Center.
