Peter Madonia, chief of staff for New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, has been appointed chief operating officer at the Rockefeller Foundation, also in New York, reports The New York Times. Mayor Bloomberg, who is himself a philanthropist, said in a statement on Wednesday that he was “both disappointed and proud” to announce Mr. Madonia’s transition into the world of philanthropy.
