Fund Raising Made E-Z
by William F. Stier

This practical guide offers information and instructions on how to conduct 75 different types of fund-raising events.

William F. Stier, director of the undergraduate program in sport management and the graduate athletic-administration program at the State University of New York at Brockport, explains how to plan, manage, and conduct fund-raising events such as bake sales, car washes, auctions, and tournaments. Many of the fund-raising events focus on activities helpful to athletic administrators, coaches, and recreation leaders, but some may also be useful to nonprofit youth and social organizations like the Boy Scouts, Y.M.C.A.’s, and Jewish community centers, Mr. Stier suggests.

Events are organized by the amount of money to be raised, from less than $3,000 to more than $10,000. The descriptions of each event explain the degree of difficulty in planning the event, the best time to schedule it, the types of resources required, whether any insurance or permits may be needed, and hints for collecting additional donations. An initial chapter provides an overview of fund-raising techniques, and an appendix helps readers find which events in the book best match their goals.
