Ruth Lilly Relatives Petition for Guardianship

Relatives of Ruth Lilly have sued to establish legal guardianship of the 90-year-old billionaire heiress, a move that might allow millions of dollars designated for donation to be paid to charities, reports The Indianapolis Star.
The family members said Ms. Lilly’s deteriorating health has prevented her from selecting the nonprofit recipients of nearly $15-million in donations that she has promised to make. The relatives said if their bid is successful they would continue Ms. Lilly’s philanthropic efforts.
