S.C. House Votes to Restore Arts Money
July 1, 2011
The South Carolina House voted Wednesday to override Gov. Nikki Haley’s veto of funds for the state Arts Commission, Columbia, S.C., daily The State writes.
The vote was one of several by the Republican-controlled House to reverse the GOP governor’s veto of individual spending provisions, including a $1.9-million outlay for the grant-making arts body.
The overridden vetoes now go the Senate, which also has a Republican majority.
