Satire: U.S. ‘Counter-Philanthropy Unit’ Targets Gates Giving

As proof that no good deed goes unpunished—or at least can’t escape irony—the humor magazine The Onion writes that the Pentagon and the Central Intelligence Agency plan to spend $64-billion to undermine the charitable efforts of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
“The fight against Gates will not be easy, will not be quick, and will not be without enormous cost,” The Onion quoted a federal official as saying. “This bill gives us the power to take on these extremists before they create positive global change that will haunt us for generations.”
