Seven Recent Mergers Announced by Charities

Children’s Home Society of North Carolina and Family Life Council, two adoption and foster-care groups in Greensboro, and Youth Homes, a similar organization in Charlotte, N.C., are merging under the Children’s Home Society name.
Family Service Centers, a social-service group in St. Petersburg, Fla., has merged with Suncoast Center, a St. Petersburg, Fla., mental-health organization.
Florida Blood Services, in St. Petersburg , Fla., and Blood Systems Laboratories, in Dallas and Phoenix, plan to merge.
Legal Services of Northern Virgina and Potomac Legal Aid Society, both in Falls Church, Va., have merged.
Mercy Health Partners, in Scranton, Pa., and Tyler Memorial Hospital, in Meshoppen, Pa., have merged.
Mid South Reads, in Memphis, has merged with the Memphis Literacy Council.
The Yosemite Association, in El Portal, Calif., has merged with the Yosemite Fund, in San Francisco.
