Singer Gives $1-Million to Climate-Change Charity

August 11, 2006

Barbra Streisand gave $1-million to the former president Bill Clinton’s Climate Change Initiative, reports Reuters.

Ms. Streisand made the award from money she earned when people bought tickets to her forthcoming national tour. She has promised to distribute other proceeds from the tour to organizations that focus on the environment, women’s health, and education.

The Clinton effort is designed to persuade cities around the world to decrease the level of greenhouse gas emissions.
