Stacey Stewart Will Lead Mothers Against Drunk Driving; Ronald McDonald House Charities Taps New CEO

Mothers Against Drunk Driving

Stacey Stewart has been chosen as its next CEO. She has served as president and CEO of March of Dimes since 2017.

Stewart replaces Ellen Wilmott, who has led the group on an interim basis since Adam Vanek departed in 2021.

Ballmer Institute for Children’s Behavioral Health

Katie McLaughlin, a clinical psychologist, Harvard professor, and director of the Stress and Development Laboratory at Harvard, has been selected as its first executive director.

The new institute for pediatric mental health in Portland, Ore., was created with a $425 million gift from Steve and Connie Ballmer in 2022.

Fund for Global Human Rights

Gabriela Bucher will become its next president and CEO, starting May 29. Currently she is executive director of Oxfam International.

Bucher will replace Regan Ralph, the organization’s founding president and CEO who left in November after 20 years there.

Ronald McDonald House Charities

Katie Fitzgerald will become its president and CEO on March 6. Currently she is president and chief operating officer at Feeding America.

Fitzgerald follows Kelly Dolan, who retired last year after five years there and two years as its leader.

More New CEOs

Jean Accius, senior vice president of global thought leadership at AARP, has been tapped as president and CEO of CHC: Creating Healthier Communities.

Maria Klawe, president of Harvey Mudd College, has been selected as the next president of Math for America, a fellowship program that offers professional development opportunities for math and science teachers. She has served on its board since 2007. Klawe succeeds John Ewing, who plans to retire at the end of 2023 after leading the organization for 15 years.

Kate Krauss, executive director of the Fair Food Network, has been promoted to CEO. She follows Oran Hesterman, who founded the group in 2009.

Tulaine Montgomery, who has served alongside Vanessa Kirsch as co-CEO of New Profit since 2021, will become its sole CEO on July 1. Kirsch will then become founder-in-residence and a senior partner at the venture-philanthropy organization.

Benjamin Prosky will become president of the Classical American Homes Preservation Trust on April 3. Currently he is executive director of the American Institute of Architects’ New York Chapter and the Center for Architecture.

Carl Atiya Swanson, associate director at Springboard for the Arts, will now serve as executive director of the National Independent Venue Foundation, an organization that supports performing-arts spaces.

ImpactAssets

The impact-investing firm has named four new executives.

Dana Cotter has been promoted from chief of staff to managing director of impact.

Alice Lowenstein, principal and managing director at Litman Gregory Asset Management, has been hired as chief operating officer.

Christian Peele has joined as chief of staff and head of strategic planning. She was most recently special assistant to President Joe Biden and deputy director of management and administration in the Biden-Harris White House.

Kavita Vijayan, managing director of strategic communications at the Reinvestment Fund, has been appointed director of strategic marketing communications.

Other Notable Appointments

Mustapha Beydoun is now chief operating officer at Big Thought, an education nonprofit in Dallas. Most recently he was chief financial and operations officer at BioMADE.

Eric Davis has joined the Ford Motor Company Fund as director of social mobility. Most recently, he was vice president of community impact at United Way of Southeastern Michigan.

Melanie Esland, major-gift officer at the Henry Ford, has started as chief development officer at LifeLab Kids.

Melvina Ford has been appointed national legal director at Equal Rights Advocates. Most recently she was interim chief legal officer at the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Bernard Franklin, vice president of student life at Mount St. Mary’s University, has been appointed managing director at Uncornered, which works to reduce gang violence in urban communities.

Kim Goldsmith-N’Diaye, chief development officer at Doctors Without Borders U.S., will now serve as chief development officer at Orbis International.

Kimberly Harle Solis, director of communications and community impact at Las Aguilas Enterprises, has been hired as chief communications officer at Endeavors. This San Antonio nonprofit group serves children, families, military veterans, and other people experiencing mental illness, disability, or emergencies.

Ronzard Innocent, director of project management, and Christopher Turner, director of transaction services, are now managing directors and principals at Denham Wolf Real Estate Services. This New York firm helps nonprofit groups buy and develop properties in the city and elsewhere.

Dennis McCarthy, director of sales at Blackbaud, was hired as executive vice president of account services at Amergent, a direct-marketing firm for nonprofit clients.

Dayron Miles has been promoted from senior adviser for civic engagement and strategic partnerships to associate artistic director at the American Repertory Theater.

Heather Philpot, vice president at Tunnl, has joined the fundraising and direct-marketing firm Moore as executive vice president.

Jackie Shimshoni Reese, manager at the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh, has been hired as chief of staff at Tree of Life, a new Philadelphia organization dedicated to countering anti-Semitism.

Kamaria Tyehimba has been promoted to vice president of behavioral health at Talbert House. She has served as director of addictions services since 2018.

Jaye Lopez Van Soest, senior director of development at the Fair Food Network, has been named vice president and chief development officer at the Gateways Music Festival.
