Studio Donates to Flight 93 Memorial
May 4, 2006
Universal Pictures, the movie studio that released “United 93” in theaters last weekend, announced that it will contribute $1.15-million to a memorial fund for victims of the plane that crashed near Shanksville, Pa., on Sept. 11, 2001, reports the Associated Press.
The gift is roughly 10 percent of the movie’s box-office proceeds from its opening weekend and will go toward construction of the memorial, which is estimated to cost about $58-million.
