Sudan Pledges to Help Humanitarian Workers

Sudan has signed an agreement with the United Nations to speed up the deployment of aid and make it easier for charity workers to visit the country, reports Reuters.
A joint statement promised that Sudan would approve all visas for humanitarian workers within 15 days of application.
The statement came after UN humanitarian chief John Holmes warned that relief efforts for 2.5 million refugees in Darfur—the largest in the world—would crumble if the government did not cooperate.
