This Sunday, instead of traveling to Detroit to watch her husband coach the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl, Kathy Holmgren will be in Africa on a charity mission with Northwest Medical Teams, the Associated Press reports. The article says Mrs. Holmgren—who will accompany her daughter, Calla, a gynecologist—made the travel plans months ago, never expecting there would be a scheduling conflict. Mike Holmgren told the news organization he was proud of his wife, adding: “She works very hard at a lot of things that are a lot more important than coaching a football game.”
