‘SURVIVOR’ STAR CHARGED WITH CHARITY WRONGDOING

Richard Hatch, the first champion of the reality-TV franchise “Survivor,” is on trial for financial misdeeds related to his $1-million winnings, including allegations of charity fraud, The New York Times reports. In addition to evading taxes and other misdeeds, Mr. Hatch is accused of spending money channeled to a charity he founded, Horizon Bound, for his own personal use. Mr. Hatch says the charity is legitimate. He may face up to $1-million in fines and 30 years in prison.
