A San Antonio businessman has opened a family foundation with $75-million and plans to contribute $125-million more over the next few years to help local children’s causes, reports The San Antonio Express-News.

Harvey Najim, founder of Sirius Computer Solutions, has already sent out letters to 17 nonprofit groups asking for grant proposals. The Harvey E. Najim Family Foundation eventually expects to grant $1-million every month, with an average grant of $144,000, the article says.

Mr. Najim recently sold a 60 percent stake in Sirius, whose revenue he expects to exceed $700-million this year. As soon as revenue hits $1-billion, he says he will retire to run his new foundation full-time.
