A nonprofit group in Texas is suing its former chief executive officer for $30-million, charging that he improperly used charity resources and overpaid himself during his tenure as president, reports the El Paso Times.
In its lawsuit, Ready One Industries, formerly known as the National Center for Employment of the Disabled, demanded the return of $24-million in compensation paid to its former leader, Bob Jones, since 2003 and accused him of using millions of charity dollars for personal expenses.
In March, Mr. Jones stepped down from his post following allegations of fraud in his management of the charity’s money. A lawyer for Mr. Jones denies the accusations.
