The Blandin Foundation Names a New Leader (Transitions)

Americans for Peace Now

Hadar Susskind has been appointed as president and CEO. Previously, he was senior vice president of government relations at the Council on Foundations until 2019.

Susskind succeeds Aviva Meyer, who has served as acting CEO for the past two years and will return to her role as vice chair of its Board of Directors.

Blandin Foundation

Tuleah Palmer will become the next president and CEO of this $374 million Minnesota foundation on July 13. She currently serves as executive director of Northwest Indian Community Development Center.


Neighborhood Funders Group

Adriana Rocha, vice president of programs, has been promoted to president. Since July 2019, she has served as interim co-director with Sarita Ahuja, vice president of operations.

Rocha succeeds Dennis Quirin, who stepped down last summer to become executive director of the Raikes Foundation.

More New CEOs

Jackie Carrera, interim president and CEO of the Santa Barbara Foundation since January, will continue in the role permanently. Prior to her promotion, she was chief revenue and business development officer for two years. Carrera succeeds Ronald Gallo, who has retired after leading the $359 million foundation for 11 years.


Tiffany Donelson, vice president of program, will take over as president and CEO of the Connecticut Health Foundation on September 1. She will replace Patricia Baker, who has led the $103 million foundation since it was created in 1999. Baker had intended to retire in June, but because of the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, she now plans to stay on through the summer.

Michelle Jackson, acting executive director of the Human Services Council of New York since January, has accepted the role on a permanent basis. She was previously deputy executive director and general counsel. Jackson succeeds Allison Sesso, who departed to become executive director at RIP Medical Debt.

Other Notable Appointments

Jolynn Berk, director of marketing, has been promoted to chief marketing and communications officer at Rise Against Hunger.

Susan Arnot Heaney, director of global marketing and engagement at the Rainforest Alliance, has joined the Urban Resource Institute as chief marketing officer.


Mandy O’Neill, CEO of Leukemia Texas, has been named senior vice president of donor engagement at the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Mike Pia, managing director of strategic partnerships and research at the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, has been appointed chief investment officer at the Texas A&M Foundation.

Kevin Taylor, chief development officer for the greater New York region at the American Red Cross, is now vice president and chief development officer at Fountain House, a mental-health organization in New York.

Departure

Brad Hurlburt plans to retire as president and CEO of the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties in June 2021. He has led the $200 million community fund since 2013.
