Fragile: The Human Condition
by Howard G. Buffett

This coffee-table book features photographs taken by the philanthropist Howard G. Buffett in 64 countries and accounts of his personal and charitable travels to investigate how to fight social ills such as hunger, human trafficking, the plight of refugees, and the use of children as soldiers. In addition, he examines how natural disasters affect the poorest people in the world.

Of his travels, he writes, “The common denominator I have found to be true in every country I have visited is that people offer more than they can afford, and accept strangers with open hearts and open minds.” The book also includes a foreword by the pop singer Shakira Mebarak.
