The British government failed to provide adequate oversight of $87-million it gave to United Nations groups and charities to help survivors of the Indian Ocean tsunamis, reports Reuters. According to a report by the National Audit Office, a British government watchdog, some of the grant recipients are still holding on to the money.

According to a survey conducted by Terror Free Tomorrow, a nonprofit group in Washington, favorable opinions of the United States in the island nation has tripled thanks in part to the work of the U.S. military and private relief efforts. However, Terror Free Tomorrow said that for the good will to continue, the United States needs to make changes in its foreign policy.
