UCLA FUND RAISING

The University of California at Los Angeles has raised $3.05-billion in a campaign that started in 1995, reports the Los Angeles Times. The total eclipses the previous national record for a campaign, $2.85-billion completed in 2003 by the University of Southern California. The campaign is one of many efforts by public universities to step up their fund raising as government support has dwindled.
