U.N. Likely to Reduce Appeal for Lebanon Aid
August 24, 2006
The United Nations is likely to reduce its $150-million appeal for emergency aid to Lebanon now that about 97 percent of the 900,000 people displaced by the recent war have returned home, reports Reuters.
The organization will announce a new figure in the next few weeks. So far, it has received $89-million toward the original appeal.
