Unicef has issued an appeal for $805-million in emergency aid, Reuters reports. The money will make basic supplies and services readily available to mothers and children in 29 places worldwide where present conditions constitute “an almost constant state of emergency.” Unicef said most of the money would be used for Sudan, with the rest going to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, and Uganda, among others.
