UPDATE: $100-MILLION GIFT

February 3, 2006

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg of New York is widely considered to be the donor who gave $100-million anonymously to the Johns Hopkins University on Wednesday, reports The Baltimore Sun. The gift, which will be used for the university’s hospital and undergraduate programs, would be Mayor Bloomberg’s second $100-million gift to his alma mater. The university did not comment on the donor’s identity, and Mayor Bloomberg didn’t confirm or deny the report.
