UPDATE: BOSTON CATHOLIC CHARITIES AND ADOPTION DISPUTE
March 6, 2006
Catholic social-service groups in Massachusetts could lose millions of dollars from grant makers and other donors now that the state’s bishops have decided that gay people cannot adopt children, reports The Boston Globe. Corporations and philanthropies that support Catholic Charities, the social-service arm of the Catholic Church, often have nondiscrimination policies and therefore will not be able to offer donations, the newspaper said.
