UPDATE: HURRICANE AID

The Getty Foundation has announced that it has established a $2-million fund for nonprofit cultural groups to restore and advance the visual arts and architecture of New Orleans, the Associated Press reports. Also, The Boston Globe reports that Michael Stipe, frontman for the musical group REM, is releasing six versions of Joseph Arthur’s “In the Sun” on iTunes, with all proceeds going to Mercy Corps to benefit victims of the hurricane in New Orleans.
