UPDATE: KATRINA SCAM

March 7, 2006

David Zimmerman, of Troy, Ohio, was sentenced to eight months in prison after being charged with posing as a victim of Hurricane Katrina and improperly taking more than $2,000 from a local Red Cross chapter, reports the Associated Press. Mr. Zimmerman pleaded no contest to the felony theft charges in January, and his lawyer said Mr. Zimmerman was sorry. Mr. Zimmerman was ordered to repay the money to the North Miami Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross.
