U.S. Tops List of Regions With the Most Generous Donors Worldwide

The United States has the world’s most generous philanthropists, according to a new study by Bankrate.com.
The BNP Paribas Individual Philanthropy index measures giving by donors in the United States, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East with at least $5 million to invest. Those in Europe ranked second, but donors in the Middle East are increasing their giving.
The most commonly supported cause in all the regions was health except in Asia, where the most goes to the environment.
