Veterans Charity That Hosted Trump Event Had Lost Nonprofit Status

September 16, 2015

The Internal Revenue Service had revoked the nonprofit status of a veterans charity that hosted an event at which Republican presidential contender Donald Trump gave a foreign-policy speech, the Associated Press reports.

The IRS revoked its nonprofit status on August 10. The event took place on Tuesday. Joel Arends, the chairman of Veterans for a Strong America, which endorsed Mr. Trump during the event on a retired battleship, says he will appeal the IRS decision. He declined to provide tax forms to the Associated Press.
