Visitors Flock to Georgia Aquarium
March 27, 2006
Since its opening in November, the Georgia Aquarium has been a popular and financial success, attracting more than a million visitors and renting out its large ballroom to supplement its income, reports The New York Times.
Created primarily with a $250-million gift from Bernard Marcus, the founder of Home Depot, the aquarium also won significant corporate support and bears the labels of those sponsors on its galleries. (Read The Chronicle’s profile of Mr. Marcus.)
