Warren Buffett Leads Magazine’s List of Top Donors

By pledging $31-billion to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the investor Warren Buffett made it to the top of BusinessWeek’s annual list of the nation’s most-generous donors.
The total giving by BusinessWeek’s top 50 reached $157-million in 2006, up from $120-million in 2005.
BusinessWeek’s rankings are based on the amount pledged or donated over the past five years. Mr. Buffett has given or pledged a total of $40-billion, and was followed on the list by Bill and Melinda Gates, who have given $3.3-billion over the past five years.
