Washington Ballet Lands New Executive Director (Transitions)

Michael Pastreich, president and chief executive of the Florida Orchestra, has been appointed executive director of the ballet. He succeeds Michael Mael, who is leaving at the conclusion of his contract on June 30.Low Income Investment Fund

Kimberly Latimer-Nelligan, chief operating officer and executive vice president of community investment programs, has been promoted to president. She will report directly to the foundation’s new CEO, Daniel Nissenbaum, who took the reins of the $491 million foundation in March.

New Music USA

Vanessa Reed, CEO of the PRS Foundation, a grant maker to the arts in London, will next serve as New Music USA’s president and CEO, effective August 12. She succeeds Ed Harsh, who left the charity last year to become a senior staff member at the Kurt Weill Foundation for Music.

Tides Foundation

Kriss Deiglmeier, CEO of the $440 million foundation for five years, will depart at the end of 2019, once a successor has been selected.

More New CEOs

Jim Burch, interim president and former executive vice president of the National Police Foundation, has taken on the leadership role permanently. He succeeds Jim Bueermann, who retired last year.

Brent Cooper, a former Green Beret in the U.S. Army Special Forces and director of operations at Windermere Property Management, will become executive director of the Green Beret Foundation on June 3.

Scott Roberts, vice president for philanthropy and alumni engagement at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and president of the UNLV Foundation, has been named president and CEO of the University of Connecticut Foundation. He replaces John Fodor, who has served as interim president and CEO since August.

Heather Ruhsam, a principal at Intertidal Ventures, a philanthropy-consulting firm in Newport, R.I., has been named executive director of the National Sailing Hall of Fame.

Caitríona Taylor, director of campus recreation at Boston College, will become CEO of the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts on June 3.

Tiffani Underwood, interim director of development at Patrick Henry Community College, has been permanently appointed to the role and will also serve as executive director of the PHCC Foundation. Previously she worked at the college as coordinator of community development and on-site manager of the Dalton IDEA Center.

The nonprofit health system in New Jersey has promoted three members of its senior leadership.

Jennifer Khelil, vice president of medical affairs, is now senior vice president and chief medical officer.

John Matsinger, executive vice president and chief clinical officer, was promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Chrisie Scott, vice president for strategic marketing, has become senior vice president and chief marketing officer.

Other Notable Appointments

Timothy Anderson, interim vice president for advancement and strategic partnerships at Whittier College, has been named to the role permanently.

Susie Gorden has joined Van Scoyoc Associates as associate vice president, working primarily in the government-affairs consulting firm’s philanthropy practice. Previously she was vice president at the Congressional Management Foundation.

Lorna Ricotta, executive director of the Fayetteville Technical Community College Foundation, has been named vice chancellor for institutional advancement at Fayetteville State University.

Marcia Shackelford, vice president for development at Climate Central, has joined the Princeton Area Community Foundation as its chief philanthropy officer.

Marty Smith, vice president for advancement at Transylvania University, has become senior associate vice chancellor for development and alumni affairs at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Julie Weiner, director of development for the University of California at Santa Barbara’s Division of Humanities and Fine Arts, has been appointed chief development officer at the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara.

Mark Wilton, director of development at Auburn University, has been named director of development and external relations for the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food, and Life Sciences at the University of Arkansas.

Departures

Dave Bartek, CEO of Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan, was dismissed after less than two years, according to reports. No reason was given for his dismissal.

Katy Locker, program director for Detroit at the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, will step down this month after six years in the role.

Mariët Westermann, executive vice president for programs and research at the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, is leaving after nine years at the foundation. She will become a professor of arts and humanities and vice chancellor at New York University in Abu Dhabi.
