Web Site Offers 15-Minute Volunteer Projects

September 12, 2006 | Read Time: 1 minute

A Web site based in Illinois seeks to make it easy for busy people to do good works, offering assignments that can be completed in as little as 15 minutes, reports the Chicago Tribune.

CharityGuide.org lists more than 170 projects it says can be completed in a quarter hour or less, including moving bird feeders away from windows, to prevent birds from smacking into the glass, and donating the remnants of a haircut to an organization that makes wigs for children without hair.

The site has been running for six years and receives 600,000 visitors annually. It was started by Michael Organ, a former Accenture executive who volunteers 60 to 70 hours a week to keep the site going.
