The Web sites of five nonprofit groups have been nominated for the 11th annual Webby Awards.
The nominees include three groups in the United States: Bioneers, a site that focuses on health and environmental issues; Nothing but Nets, an anti-malarial group that provides mosquito nets for Africans; and the Denver Zoo.
Two other nonprofit groups also received nominations: I Spy With My Little Eye, a Dutch group focused on domestic abuse; and SAM, a 24-hour support line from the Samaritans of Singapore.
The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, which sponsors the Webby Awards, will announce winners May 1. In the meantime, fans can cast their own ballots in the People’s Voice Award for the best nonprofit Web site and in 100 other categories, including activism and education.
