The 1% Windfall: How Successful Companies Use Price to Profit and Grow

By Rafi Mohammed

Although this book is primarily intended for companies, it also includes ideas for nonprofit groups to use to determine what their services are worth. Mr. Mohammed, a business consultant, writes that charities should offer different prices for products and services depending on what patrons are willing to pay.

He examines the strategy undertaken by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in setting admission and membership prices. It charges as much as $20,000 for wealthy patrons to enjoy an evening program with the museum’s director while students pay just $50 to join the museum.
