What It Takes to Volunteer as a Salvation Army Bell Ringer

The Salvation Army relies heavily on its volunteer corps of bell ringers to call attention to its holiday giving drive.

The bell ringers are supposed to provide a dose of good cheer to holiday shoppers, in the hopes that doing so will persuade Americans to plunk cash donations into the ringers’ iconic red kettles.

What makes for a good bell ringer? We recently visited some of these volunteers in Arlington, Va., to find out. Watch the video above to learn more.
