Young People Urged to Do Good Works

March 26, 1998 | Read Time: 1 minute

A new non-profit group is hoping that young people will look to Heaven to find out about good works on earth.

Heaven is an Internet effort started by America Online and New Line Cinema to promote volunteerism among people ages 18 to 34.

Since the group put its information on America Online in July, Heaven has been attracting 100,000 people each month, and the group recently started a World-Wide Web site to expand its reach to all Internet users.

Visitors to Heaven can search a data base of volunteer needs in their areas. Clicking on Montana, for example, visitors will find volunteer opportunities at local Scout groups, non-profit theaters, and advocacy organizations.

To get there: Using World-Wide Web software, type http://www.hubheaven.org. Using America Online, type keyword “Hub Heaven.”
