The Jewish Funders Network announced that Mark Charendoff, its president, is stepping down one day after he wrote in a newspaper opinion piece that the leaders of Jewish nonprofit groups should serve no longer than 10 years, according to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
Mr. Charendoff, who has led the network—a group of grant makers who support Jewish causes—for nine years, will leave office at the end of 2010, the network’s chairman, Murray Galinson, wrote in a letter to members last week.
Mr. Charendoff made the case for “term limits in Jewish organizations” in an article in The New York Jewish Week.
