Virginia Charities Lose State Grants

Virginia’s Legislature has rejected proposed grants to a variety of nonprofit groups following a January opinion from the attorney general that such spending is unconstitutional, writes Watchdog.org, a news service that covers state and local politics.

Operation Smile and the Federation of Virginia Food Banks are among charities that will not get money proposed by Gov. Bob McDonnell.
