A Model Gift-Acceptance Policy from the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning

February 28, 2015 | Read Time: 1 minute

Gift-acceptance policies and procedures help an organization outline the types of gifts it accepts and how they are administered.

This model, provided by the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, can help gift planners create customized acceptance policies for their charities.

These policies should be formally adopted and periodically reviewed by an organization’s leaders, says Barbara Yeager, the partnership’s director of operations. Organizations should establish a schedule for reviewing the policy document when it is adopted.
