Update: Pro Bono Design Event
April 25, 2014 | Read Time: 1 minute
In November, I wrote a blog post about an event that connects good causes and designers for a weekend of pro bono design. My studio, Elefint Designs, has organized three of these events so far under the banner Desgn.it.
In the past, these events were only a half day, with 10 nonprofits and 25 designers, and included a few short workshops on various design topics. For Desgn.it Tahoe we wanted to focus on doing a lot more for just two organizations. This allowed us to customize our teams and workshops to the needs of those organizations and let us go into much greater depth.
The experience turned out great, and we are working on creating a number of similar events.
Design for Good events can be a great way for organizations to get design help, gain an understanding of what works in design, and even get ideas on how to improve the strategy and operations of the organization, all without breaking the bank.
Check out the video below, and drop us a line via our website if you are interested in organizing, funding, or participating in a Desgn.it event.
