In this video interview from our September Philanthropy NEXT conference, Michael Lomax, who serves on the board of the National Museum of African American History and Culture, discusses strategies used to raise money to build the institution.
Mr. Lomax, who is also chief executive of UNCF, explains how the museum’s mission told a story that resonated with many who later stepped forward to donate family treasures and artifacts to the museum, such as swords used during the Civil War and Nat Turner’s Bible.
