Texas Capital Bank launches the Texas Capital Bank Foundation, a nonprofit entity for honoring and empowering communities
Texas Capital Bank was founded on entrepreneurial spirit, innovation and community in the heart of the state of Texas. They’ve evolved over the past two decades from a single office in Dallas to a robust, full-service financial institution. More recently, the bank embarked on an ambitious transformation strategy to elevate how Texas banks, onboarding robust talent and expanding offerings for clients. They have since unveiled several active initiatives with a focus on investing in people and communities.
Last year, the bank was named a winner in D CEO Magazine and Communities Foundation of Texas’ annual Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards for Collaboration of the Year, with Texas Heavenly Homes and the City of Dallas. Texas Capital Bank has a long history of supporting programs that serve low-and-moderate income communities in Texas, including nonprofit organizations that deliver quality financial education or provide equal access to capital for Texas communities. At the end of 2022, Texas Capital Bank expanded its commitment to community and announced its newest philanthropic endeavor: the Texas Capital Bank Foundation.

“Texas Capital Bank takes a holistic approach to serving our communities through strategic philanthropy and engagement,” said President and CEO Rob C. Holmes. “Giving back has always been part of our DNA, and with the establishment of the Texas Capital Bank Foundation, we are excited to grow our service to nonprofits focused on helping our fellow Texans.”
The Texas Capital Bank Foundation will launch by honoring four outstanding nonprofit programs with the newly created Texas Capital Bank Honors awards, in addition to its annual grant cycle. Three of these grants are for $50,000 each and represent the bank’s giving pillars: Live, Learn and Lift. The fourth grant, for $100,000, is the STAR award, which stands for Serving our Troops, Active and Remembered.
“We recognize that real community transformation begins with intentionality and purpose,” says Effie Dennison, Executive Vice President for Community Development and Corporate Responsibility at Texas Capital Bank. “With this foundation, the bank’s philanthropic commitment will double across the state,” she adds.
Under the strategic pillars of “Live,” “Learn” and “Lift,” The Texas Capital Bank Foundation envisions communities where all families have access to a great quality of life, an education that will prepare them to succeed and the support they need to thrive. The foundation’s plan is to keep these values in action far beyond the walls of the bank itself, and into the surrounding communities.

Texas-based nonprofits within Texas Capital Bank’s market areas can apply for the inaugural Honors Awards starting in January 2023. The four recipients will be notified and announced in April 2023 at a celebratory award ceremony.
The Texas Capital Bank Foundation Honors Awards grant submission portal opened on January 2, 2023, and will close February 28, 2023. To learn more about eligibility criteria and guidelines, nonprofits are encouraged to visit the Texas Capital Bank Foundation webpage.
