Research on Social Entrepreneurship: Understanding and Contributing to an Emerging Field, edited by Rachel Mosher-Williams, aims to define and describe “social entrepreneurship.” Seven articles by professors and nonprofit and foundation leaders explore this field — including essays that explain the specifics of what a social entrepreneur does and summarize the results of a study of social enterprise in the United States and around the world. Other articles deal with how to measure the success of social entrepreneurs, creating a theory of social entrepreneurship, a case study of social enterprise, and directions for future research.
