Knowledge to Action: Critical Health Issues and the Work of Health Philanthropy Over 25 Years, is divided into 10 sections that cover health-related philanthropy and foundations. The first section describes the history of the nonprofit health industry and giving to it, and the remaining nine chapters cover issues of interest to health organizations today: access to health care, aging, children and youths, health promotion, HIV/AIDS, mental health, public health, quality of care, racial and ethnic disparities in health, and social determinants of health. Each section concludes with two to three pages of facts gleaned from recent research and a list of resources for further reading.
