January 25, 2007 | Read Time: 1 minute

NEW BOOKS

Be Bold: Create a Career With Impact, by Cheryl L. Dorsey and Lara Galinsky, encourages its readers to consider a career in public service. Echoing Green, a charity that provides fellowships to promising nonprofit leaders, compiles the stories of 12 of its fellows, including the founders of Teach for America, City Year, the Global Fund for Children, and International Bridges to Justice. Each of the first four chapters discusses three fellows: their backgrounds, their causes, and their organizations. The final chapter includes a questionnaire to help aspiring charity leaders define their particular passions, and a list of resources to learn more about careers in the nonprofit world.
