Netflix Chief Launches $100 Million Education Foundation

Reed Hastings announced through Facebook on Tuesday the launch of a $100 million education foundation, The Washington Post reports. The first two grants from the Hastings Fund, totaling $1.5 million, will support college access for minority students. 

Calif. Couple Pledges $40 Million to Build Nursing School

Bill Gross, a fund manager, and his wife, Sue, announced a $40 million commitment to establish a nursing school at the University of California at Irvine, The Los Angeles Times reports. The school will be named for the couple, who will raise the funds through their William and Sue Gross Family Foundation.
